Scholarship Description

The Financial Aid and Scholarships office administers a variety of scholarships funded by the university and donors who support UTSA. One of the best ways to cover tuition costs is to apply for scholarships—they provide financial aid funds that you don’t have to pay back. Although some scholarships are awarded automatically, most require an application separate from completing your FAFSA. One Stop can help you learn about the different types of scholarships available and how you can be awarded them.

UTSA offers the merit-based Distinguished Presidential Scholarship to students who display exceptional scholastic achievement in high school. At the least, students must be in the top 25% of their class, and have either an SAT of 1150 or an ACT of 24. Students must be enrolled as full-time undergraduate students with minimum of 12 UTSA credit hours each fall and spring semester (at least 15 credits are recommended to to ensure you are awarded the full amount of your scholarship for the following year). To fully renew this award, students must maintain a 2.5 GPA and be enrolled in at least 30 credits.
